Cut from a single block of travertine, 12 inches by 8, and an inch thick through the base. Honed rather than polished, so it shows fingerprints far less than a sealed surface does.
Travertine is porous by nature and this piece is left unsealed, which is what keeps the surface matte. Blot oil and wine rather than letting them sit.
Natural pitting and veining run differently through every block. No two trays are the same piece of stone, and the one photographed is not the one that ships.
